Saint Augustine Events
The St. Augustine Music Festival (SAMF) is the largest free classical music festival in the United States. The festival will take place in the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine and will span over two weekends. This weekend the festival will begin on Friday, June 20th. The full schedule is below:
June 20th: 7:30 PM- 9:00 PM
June 21st: 7:30 PM- 9:00 PM
June 22nd: 7:30 PM- 9:00 PM
“Hope, Joy and Love”
Apex Theatre, in partnership with the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, presents the hit Broadway show, “Chicago.” Apex Theatre Studio is compiled of young artists between the ages of 8-14 and is the only training program in Northeast Florida that is specifically for intermediate to advanced level theatre students. The show includes select times throughout June and July. This weekend will be opening weekend, the full schedule is below:

Anastasia State Park will put on a presentation titled “Let’s Talk Turtle.” This talk is intended to communicate how to identify turtles, how turtles nest and hatch and how we can help them survive the many dangers they encounter in the oceans. This free program will be located at the Sea Turtle Pavilion near Island Beach Grill and will only go from 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM.
Start off your Saturday morning by supporting a great cause at the Crescent Beach Challenge. It is a family-organized fundraiser to support those affected by leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood-related cancers. The event features 1K and 5K runs, several ocean events including swimming, kayaking, surfing, and standup paddle boarding, as well as two combined “Kahuna” events. The event will begin at 7:30 AM and continue until noon. The Amphitheatre Farmers Market will also take place Saturday morning from 8:30 AM- 12:30 PM. Here you can shop for groceries and gifts, grab a bite to eat or drink, mingle with friends or stay for a while to enjoy some old-time music. Later in the night, the Amphitheatre will also be hosting Bowling for Soup, Reel Big Fish and Nerf Herder. The gates open at 6:00 PM with the show beginning at 7:00 PM at the Backyard Stage.
Sunday is filled with outdoor activities including the “Guy Harvey Outpost Angler Academy: Surf Fishing.” This event is a workshop in surf fishing and hopes to teach attendees all the basics of surf fishing, along with some special tips and techniques. This event will be held at the Guy Harvey Resort from 6:00 AM- 10:00 AM. But if fishing is not for you, the Fort Mose State Park is offering a free guided bird walk. The area in which the walk is located boasts several natural environments where birds thrive. It is a two-hour walk beginning at 8:30 AM and ending at 10:30 AM. Later Sunday evening, starting at 7:00 PM, Jon Bellion, Marc E. Bassy and Lawrence will be playing at The Amphitheatre. Jon Bellion makes contemporary pop that mixes R&B, hip-hop, and indie rock influences.
